Compare this with my quake 2 gameplay. www.youtube.com Is Quake 4 a real sequel to Quake 2? Please leave a comment saying what you think and why. Gamespot says Quake 4 was the best single player experience a quake game could ever have. I have something to say about that. Reasons I don't like Quake 4: 1) The invulnerability powerup from quake 2 is not even in the game. 2) Hardly no Quad Damage powerups (none in the video). 3) The music soundtrack is nothing close to Quake 2 and not even the same music genre. 4) They tried to copy call of duty with cutscenes and added a reload button to some weapons. QUAKE DOESN'T NEED A RELOAD BUTTON! 5) They tried to copy the halo dropships instead of using the classic mothership drop pod invasion used in quake2. 6) Instead of sticking closely to the awesome quake 2 story, they decided to start ripping off the star trek borg story and make stroggs even look like borgs. 7) Not the same game as Quake 2. How weapons shoot and other entire mechanics are vastly different. The blaster is nowhere near the blaster from quake 2 (as is every weapon found in quake 4). 8) In multiplayer CTF mode they had the nerve to add an ability powerup called Double Damage (not quad). Among other lame powerups. 9) The marines all look like storm troopers. 10) The strogg all look like robots with pieces of skin glued to metal. That's not even how cyborgs work. 11) Bodies disappear after you kill them. You can't gib them unless they get stuck between a closing door ...
